By-Laws
The News Media Guild is governed by its By-Laws that are approved by its members in referendum vote - they are our "constitution." The By-Laws are defined here. They lay out the structure of the Local, how its officers are elected, the duties officers perform, how the budget is set, how contracts are bargained and enforced, and how dues are collected.
In addition, the Local is subject to the rules of our parent unions, The Newspaper Guild and the Communications Workers of America.
