The News Media Guild is accepting applications for a rank-and-file committee
that will negotiate our editorial and technology unit contracts with The
Associated Press starting in October.Our contracts expire on November 30, 2010.

WASHINGTON -- Embracing new social media technology, dozens of Guild members talked about goals for the next labor agreement with The Associated Press at meetings in Los Angeles and Washington this month. The Guild holds "sectional" meetings each bargaining year. The current contract with AP expires Nov. 30 and talks are expected start in mid-October.The Guild has established a presence on Facebook with its own group and page.

Would you like to learn or improve your skills in editing Digital Video?
The News Media Guild wants to participate in a CWA and Newspaper Guild project that will provide an intensive, three-day course on digital video editing.
The course has a value of about $1,200 and will be available FREE to Guild members at Associated Press, United Press International, and EFE News Service.
