NEW YORK, Feb. 9 -- U.S. workers at The Associated Press have ratified a new three-year labor contract with the world's largest news organization.
The News Media Guild's elections committee tabulated mail-in ballots on the pacts, which cover nearly two thousand editorial and technology positions. The Guild reached a tentative agreement with the AP on Dec. 21.
Here are the results as reported by the Elections Committee:

BALLOTS on the tentative agreements for editorial and technology workers at Associated Press were mailed Jan. 19. Please allow adequate time for the ballot to reach you.
Most first-class mail is delivered in a week, but it might take longer in some circumstances (forwarding, etc.).
* Ballot instructions are included with the ballots. Make sure you vote in time for the ballot to be received at the Elections Comittee post office box. Ballots will be counted Feb. 9. The ballots will be counted separately.

Article 1 – Coverage – No Change
Article 2 – Checkoff - The language is changed to specify that revocations can occur not more than 30 days or less than 15 days of the anniversary date on the checkoff card or the termination of the contract, whichever occurs sooner. The language recognizes that both old and new checkoff authorization cards will be honored by the Employer. The Guild agrees to indemnify and hold AP harmless against any and all claims, losses, and liability for or on account of any employee salary deductions remitted to the Guild.
