NOTICE OF BYLAW REFERENDUM VOTE
Date of Notice: July 8, 2026
THIS IS NOTICE that the News Media Guild will conduct a referendum vote on proposed amendments to the Local Bylaws. All members in good standing are entitled to vote.
Only members may vote. You may join the Guild now – send an email to guild@newsmediaguild.org to sign up.
The union’s Executive Committee is recommending approval.

Balloting will be done electronically. The Guild will also send this notice to all members’ current email addresses so it can correct emails that bounce back.
Ballots will be sent via email at 9:00 a.m. EDT on August 3, 2026, and balloting will close at 5:00 p.m. EDT on August 6th, 2026.
Members will be asked the following question:
“Shall the following amendments to the News Media Guild Bylaws be adopted, effective on adoption unless otherwise stated in the amendments?”

You will receive detailed instructions regarding the voting procedures. The vote will be administered by a third-party vendor to ensure anonymity and security of the vote.
MISSING BALLOTS: It is the responsibility of members to keep their email address current with the Guild. If you do not receive a ballot, the deadline for reporting it is August 5th, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. EDT to allow enough time for your ballot to get to the third-party vendor administering the vote.
