The Guild and AP met Thursday to discuss the Technology Unit. The AP discussed its preliminary idea to merge Global Help Desk and Customer Support, which currently exists as separate organizational units in the contract.
The difference between the two is GHD is focused on employees’ tech issues while CS centers on customers’ issues outside AP.
The AP said there would be cross-training to to teach each organizational unit the other’s job responsibilities, but did not have details on how they would go about the training and what kind of training they envision.
